The Civics Education Network is dedicated to improving political education in Ontario by supporting teachers and students of civics and politics across the province. Our programming is designed to support the excellent work already being done in our public schools.
Student ConferenceCanadian youth are just as powerful in their ability to make change and engage with their community as any adult. They have the drive, enthusiasm and energy to bring with them to any project they desire. It is with this in mind, that we facilitate a yearly student conference after the Easter long weekend. We say facilitate because the mandate of this event is to ensure that the day is organized by students, for students. CEN merely fills the role of advisor and assistant, much like the teacher in any civics classroom around the province.
Details about the conference will be posted here as the work progress. Right now we are looking for students to serve on the organizing committee. In exchange for attending semi-regular meetings and taking on some of the work, students will be given community hours and be taught valuable skills which are extremely transferrable into the workforce. If you are a student who would like to help, or know one, please email us at contact@civicsnetwork.ca.
